Serengeti
Endless plains, year-round big cat sightings and the Great Migration in Tanzania's most famous national park.
National Park · Tanzania
Arusha National Park is a compact park close to Arusha town, yet it covers a wide range of landscapes: the Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella Lakes, montane forest and the slopes of Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest mountain.
The park is home to black-and-white colobus monkeys, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, hippo, flamingos and many other birds. There are no lions, which makes it one of the few parks where guided walking safaris are especially relaxed, and canoeing is possible on the Momella Lakes.
Many travellers visit on a day trip or add it as an easy first or last stop, and on clear days Mount Kilimanjaro is visible from the northern edge of the park.
The park is open all year. June to October and January to February are driest and give the clearest mountain views.
We do not have a published safari for Arusha National Park yet. Tell us your plans and we will build one.
